Ever since I began writing I’ve been on the run, always trying to write the next page, the next chapter, the next book. Every story was another journey, another discovery of what I could do and another evolution. All these years my motto was it doesn’t matter who I am or where I come from, but what I leave behind is. I thought I have it all figured out.

Socrates, one of the biggest philosophers to ever grace humanity once said, “I am talking a crock of s***.” I had no idea this expression dated hundreds of years ago and belongs to him, but who am I to argue with him? Needless to say, after some soul searching I realized my motto was a . . . pot of smelly stuff. I had a meltdown because, if you think about it, why would what I leave behind matter more than who I am here and now in this very moment? How will I ever know if what I left behind mattered with no way of seeing it? How am I gonna enjoy it? Think Socrates; does he know how much he touched humankind? Does he know people still remember him centuries later? And if he knows, does it make a difference?

I’m not sure. Frankly I doubt with all my heart that it makes any difference to him. He’s gone, like I’ll be gone one day and instead of beating myself up to leave something behind me, I’m going to learn how to live here, now and totally enjoy it. No more worrying about tomorrow, but live today. No more five-year plans, but rather let the sun soak my skin, the air fill my lungs and the grass touch my feet. After all, I only live once.

    Dear Camelia,

Hi, I’m Deb and I want your masterpieces on my website. Please say YES! Since I was a teenager I’ve wanted to be an author of romance books and own a bookstore. Now I’m an author and working on the bookstore. But it can’t happen without YOU. I am looking for New and Self Published Authors. We are looking for Authors who write: Romance, Erotica, Sci Fi, Suspense, Horror, and Paranormal; just because it’s not listed doesn’t mean I won’t be interested. I also have 4 columnist joining the site, and I am looking to fill some of our educational and instructional Sex Health books.

With the help of friends I’ve started an eBook site but as I said it needs your help. I would very much like to offer your works on the site I’m developing. I think it would be a good fit for both of us.

I’m not trying to make a lot of money. I’m just trying to realize my dream. I hope you can help make that happen.

I’d like you to take a look and I hope I can count you in. Please get back to me if you have any questions. You can email me or call. I would love to talk to you.
    Thank You,
    Deb Cole

Likewise, Angie! I remember seeing you at the conference, too bad we haven’t met in person! Maybe next time?

      • Angie Mc April 21, 2015 at 11:37 am #

Next time for sure! I see that you are in Arizona. By chance do you meet up with other Arizona bloggers? I learned at Press Publish that there are area gatherings. ~ And what a lovely blog you have. All the best and success with your writing and publications.

      • Camelia Miron Skiba April 21, 2015 at 11:45 am #

Thank you for the kind words, Angie! My blog (like my writing) is a work in progress. Love to play with it. I have a group of fellow authors I meet monthly and we all have blogs. At the conference I was with another friend of mine who too is an author. I do not know other local bloggers and that was one goal I had when I decided to attend. Do you know other bloggers?

      • Angie Mc April 21, 2015 at 11:53 am #

Glad to hear that you have author/blogger friends locally! I don’t know any local bloggers so that’s why I’m going to track ’em down 🙂 I saw in Twitter on Saturday someone mentioned AZWP meet up, so I’ll look forward to that. BTW, my daughter is a writer, graduated from ASU Cronkite school of journalism, so I really do value the hard work and dedication of writers. Thanks so much for connecting, Camelia.
